The following tables show crew members, with their nationality or place of birth, previous ship, and their date, place and reason for discharge, indexed by the ports where they signed on.  * Notes in the crew agreement indicate that the two apprentices were transferred from “the wrecked ship Speke” to Halewood on 050306, and then from Halewood to Wavertree on 200806. The subsequent Halewood crew agreement (290306 – 150208) indicates that Halewood would have crossed paths with Wavertree in Valparaiso, Chile. A Wavertree crew agreement (080204 – 070406) also shows that Apprentice Poyntz was transferred from Wavertree to Speke in Mollendo, Peru, on 270705.

It is interesting to note that besides Martin Andrews, 49, W. Perry, 54, the two Deck Boys Tom Tomlinson, 15, and A. P. Vankuysoe, 16, and the two apprentices, Poyntz and Rawling, there was an entire turn-over of crew in Newcastle, N.S.W. when Albert Brew took over as Master.

A consular stamp on the last page of the agreement shows Halewood’s next port of call after leaving Newcastle, NSW, was Valparaiso, Chile, where the ship arrived on 030606.
