Charles H. Corson, 84 past master of the Lodi Lodge No.
256 of Free and Accepted Masons, died early today in his home at 3981 Eighth
Avenue. He suffered a stroke early this year. Corson had lived in Sacramento
forty one years.
He retired thirteen years ago as a bookkeeper for the Pioneer
Fruit Company here. Prior to coming to Sacramento, Corson lived in Lodi, San
Joaquin County. He had been a member of the Lodi Masonic lodge for fifty four
years. Other fraternal affiliations included the Stockton, San Joaquin
County, chapter of the Royal Arch Masons and the Stockton Knights of Pythias,
of which he was a life member.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 10:30
a.m. in the Miller & Skelton Chapel by the Masonic Fraternity. The burial
will be in the family plot in the City Cemetery.
Corson was a native of Maine.
He had lived in California sixty years. The survivors include his two sons,
C.L. Corson of Burlingame, and F.H. Corson of Sacramento, and two brothers,
A.G. Corson of Lodi and Joseph Corson of Decoto, Calif.
