Mary Alice Hicks Rhine
Mary Alice Hicks Rhine, 69 , daughter of Elijah and Rebecca
HICKS was born Aug 11, 1867, and passed away at her home in Haddam (Kansas) on
Tuesday, Nov. 24. On Feb. 26, 1886 she married Thomas H. RHINE in
Arkansas.
Six children were born. One son and daughter died in infancy.
Mr. RHINE preceded her in death in 1930. Soon after their marriage they
moved to Haddam. She has lived there since. In her early life she united
with the Haddam M.P. church.
She leaves four sons, Vance , Lester, John and Henry and their
families, all of Haddam; one sister, Sarah Katherine McCARTY of Portland, OR,
three brothers, Homer HICKS of Cuba, Dillon HICKS of Shaw, CO, and Frank HICKS
of Wayne, NE; twelve grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral
services were conducted Friday afternoon, Nov 27, at the Haddam M.P. church with
the Rev. L. E. DIXON and the Rev. CUNDIFF officiating. Burial was in the Hawks
Cemetery.
