The
obituary of Iredell Marley below was in the Marion, Indiana Chronical Tribune
on Saturday, June 30, 1951. This is my Great Grandfather. It is as
follows:
MARLEY FUNERAL RITES
SCHEDULED
"Funeral services for Iredell Marley, 81, retired carpenter are to be held
at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, at 814 South Adams street. Rev. Floyd Titus, pastor of
the Honesboro Methodist church, is to officiate. Burial will be in Park
Cemetery, Fairmount.
Mr. Marley died at his home in Mill township, R.R. 5 Marion, at 2:30am, Friday.
He had been confined to his bed for five days after suffering a stroke of
paralysis.
He was born in Marion, but lived in the West for 20 years, returning to this
community nine years ago. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Madeline
Neeley, Driggs, Ida.: five sons, James, Jess and Edman, Marion; Jay, Fairmount,
and Leslie, Yorktown, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Dora Cranfield, Gaston; 26
grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The body will remain at 814 South Adams street until time for the
funeral."
