ADAM VOLLMER DEAD, AGE 86 YEARS, IS DEAD
Adam Vollmer aged eighty-six years two
months and two days, died at his home one mile south of Bippus in Warren
township, at noon Friday, due to natural debility.
Mr. Vollmer was born in Grehenberg,
Germany to Peter and Eva Vollmer, on July 17, 1835. When he was 19 years
of age, he came with his parents to the United States, settling in Stark County
Ohio, March 15, 1854. When he was 21 years of age he married Katherine
Vollmer and settled near his parents home in Ohio, where he lived until
1880, when he moved to the farm in Warren Township IN. where he lived ever
since.
To the union of Adam Vollmer and Katherine
Vollmer were born eleven children, of whom two survive. Mrs. Vollmer died 27
years ago. In 1898 Mr. Vollmer contracted his second marriage, with Mrs.
Elizabeth Urshel, who died June 11, 1919.
Surviving are the siblings of the first marriage, Mrs. Frank Renz of
Warren Township and Mrs. Mary Rothermel, Kansas City MO. Eleven
grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at
2 o'clock, in the Bippus church, with burial in the cemetery west of the church.
