They had the following children: Fred E., Richard E., Margaret, Ira Daniel, Sarah and Charles. John's wife Rebecca died in Missouri between 1876-1880. John remarried a Mrs. Elizabeth Spice in Rockville, Missouri on April 30, 1881. John died at his son Fred's home in Carterville, Missouri in April of 1904. His father was a confederate soldier killed in the Civil War. His mother married again to John McGraw sometime in 1870. He was brother to Mary (Mollie), Bridget, Catherine, John Jr, Edward, Thomas, Henry, Anna, William, Louise, and Josephine. They came to Ill. a few years later and settled in Algonquin, Il. Jan.1882 he was baptized in Woodstock, Il. In June of 1892 he married his deceased brother's (Thomas) wife, Lizzie (Elizabeth Hudson) McGraw. He fathered Grace, Pearl, Ruth and Walter. They lost Jennie, James Jr, Earl and Edward at birth or within a couple of years. He owned a tavern and seed mill and later farmed owning 3 farms, school house, a newer house on the big farm and a house in Cary, Il that was purchased from his brother Henry P. and Ann Wascher in 1907. Stayed at the farm till he was 105.5 and his son Walter lived to be 101. After retirement he and his wife moved to Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and started their family. Martin was born in 1822 and later there were 3 sisters born. His parents died when he was very young. He was put in foster care of a cousin and the girls in a school. He ran away and grew to manhood in the New York state. He came back to Canada and married Rebecca Briggs. They lived and farmed for many years in Dunville, Canada.
