MI OBITUARY Elizabeth Ann Camel Bird was born in Hackettstown Warren Co., NJ, on September 20, 1829. In May 1835 moved with her parents to NY State. Remained there until Sept 27th, 1836 when they moved again to Michigan and settled in Oakland Township, Oakland Co. In April 1839 They moved again to the township of Brandon, which township has been her home until the present time, with the exception of 4 years from April 1842 until April 1846 when she lived in Davison , Genesee Co. MI. Also the last few years of her life she lived with her daughter Della and Husband Mr. & Mrs. Alanson Sherwood who resided on N. Sashabaw Road. Ortonville, MI. She was married to Isaac B. Auten of the same township Jan 1st 1850. The following March they settled on the farm where they now live on Sashabaw Road. Six children were born to them. Deniseo6@Charter.net

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 P.M. at the home of her son here and burial will be made in Commerce Cemetery. Surviving are a son , a sister, Mrs. Della Sherwood, Seymour Lake: and three brothers. Thomas Auton, Cass City, Bert Auton, Ortovnille, and Oscar, Detroit. Burial will be at Gagetown. Thomas J. Auten was born near Oxford, March 27, 1858 and was united in marriage with Miss Jennie R. Rummer on Jan. 1, 1878. They came to this vic in 1880. Jennie Rebecca Rummer Auten 11-23-1915 Cass City, MI Gagetown, MI Obit.DEATH ON TUESDAY FOLLOWED STROKE OF PARALYSIS The death of Mrs Thomas Auten of Elmwood, occured Tuesday morning ag Pleasant Home Hospital after a week's illness. The funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at two o'clock at the house with Rev. H.C. Hayward in charge. Jennie Rummer was born in Gratiot County, Michigan, August 27, 1858. She spent her early live in Oakland Co. and was married to Thomas Auten on New years day of 1877. Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Auten moved to a farm near Gagetown in which vicinity they have lived. Four children were born, one of these, a daughter, died at the age of four years: the others are Delbert Auten of Gagetown, Mrs Samuel Lazier and Mrs Flavius LaForge of Cass City. A sister and brother also survive. Mrs. Auten's death is particularly sad, since her illness occured here in Cass City and she was unable to be taken to her own home. Deniseo6@Charter.net

Sherwood Mrs. Della Sherwood 78, 680 Sashabaw Road, Ortonville, died at her home at 5 p.m. Thursday. She was ill four weeks. Born to Brandon Township, Dec. 1, 1869, she was the daughter of Issac Auten and Elizabeth Bird Auten.. She married ALanson Sherwood Dec. 25, 1893. She attended the Union school in Ortonville and was a member of the Church of Christ. She lived all her life in Oakland County. She is survived by a son and a daughter. Clinton of Pontiac and Mrs Bernice Hotchkiss of Ortonville. Services will be Sunday at the Mabley Chapel in Oxford at 4 p.m. with burial in Seymour Lake Cemetery. Mr. Sherwood was born in Brandon Township, Sept. 7, 1863, the son of William and Mary Elizabeth (Gibbs) Sherwood. He was married to Della Auten, Dec 25, 1893. Mr Sherwood attended the Seymour Lake Schools and was a member of the school board and the board of review. He had been a lifelong resident of Oakland Co. Mr. Sherwood is survived by his widow and daughter, Mrs. Bernice Hotchkiss of Ortonville, a son, Clinton L. of Pontiac, a brother Seeley Sherwood of Oxford and the following nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ada Baldwin, Mrs. Addie Allen, Lester Cooper and Glenn Sherwood, all of Oxford, William Sherwood, of Pontiac, and Gladys Sherwood of Clarkston. Funeral service will be held in The Seymour Lake Church, with Rev. Hallthorpe of the Seymour lake Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Seymour Lake Cemetery. Deniseo6@charter.net

Four brothers, Clark and Calvin Morgan both of Holly, Wayne of Pontiac, Larry of Clarkston, Sister of Mrs. Onalee Stonerock of Clarkston five grandchildren. Bertha Caire' March 27, 1922 Mountain Top, AR Franklin County Hickory Grove Cemetery Bertha is the daughter of John C. & Sarah Ellen (Bolin) Caire'. The Caire' family had 5 girls, Luella, Nettie, Velma, Bertha and Nittie Caire' Bertha passed away at their fasmily home there in the country at Mountain Top, AR. She died of the flu on March 27, 1922. She was born in the year 1904 there at Watalula, AR. She was only 18 years of age. Her grandparents were Joseph & Rebecca Emaine (Belt) Caire' She does not have a tombstone, so we are unsure where her plot is located at the Hickory Grove. Cemetery. It's so sad to know that she has been forgotten and cannot be located to even place flowers at her grave. She never married and had any children. Luella (Caire') Jackson is my grandmother.
